We have had such fun with our May Business of the Month! Wend your way to wonderful Westward Farm with us.

We first met the amazing Grace of Westward Farm, St Agnes, Isles of Scilly in January 2025. We were collecting stories for An Chi Drolla, and a friend of Grace’s told her we were on the Islands, and suggested she contact us. When she told us she lived, ‘on St Agnes on a little farm with three kids and a billion animals and we make gin (and other stuff)’ we could not get there fast enough!

St Agnes is to be found at the south-westerly edge of the Isles of Scilly. It’s tiny – just a mile or so at its widest point. It’s irresistibly unspoilt and utterly peaceful.

You might think that on an island a mile wide, people would get bored.

Well, no.

They get creative.

Aside from the fact that St Agnes does join up with it’s nearest neighbouring island, Gugh, when a low tide reveals a sand bar, Grace and co are busily following in the never idle footsteps of generations of her family.

They produce a wide range of products to supply local people and businesses, from premium (delicious) gin, new and very exciting amaretto, beautiful wildflower honey (sold out at the time of writing but back soon!), cyder, cider brandy or luxury hand made soaps and toiletries, made with essential oils from plants grown and distilled on their farm in the beautiful Scilly sunshine.

If that’s not enough, they also have two cosy boltholes for your Scilly Isles base. Timber clad Wingletang is fully kitted out, from the underfloor heating to the barbeque in the back garden and is suitable for couples or up to four guests. Similarly constructed and appointed, The Cider Barn has two bedrooms and a pull out sofa, plus a washer dryer, fast internet and another private garden and barbeque, making it great for larger groups. And yes, we are tempted to move in!

We would urge you to explore their shop and pay Westward Farm a visit. We’re already planning our next trip!
