Tom Connell recalls an incident from his childhood when his sister, Louisa, was about 10 or 11 years old and the family lived on a farm between Liskeard and Launceston. One day, while stroking a ferret, Louisa was bitten, which must have been a painful experience. Although Tom tried to console her after hearing about the bite, Louisa, the eldest sibling, later grew up to marry and have a daughter of her own.
