Karavan An Chi Drolla – Penzance
December 13 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Uncover a treasure trove of stories gathered from across Cornwall on Friday 13th December at Penlee Park.
Step out of the cold and inside ‘Karavan an Chi Drolla’, ‘The House of Stories’ to discover moments of magic and secrets never told but not forgotten. What objects intrigue you? What unexpected moments can you find? What surprises lie behind cupboard doors?
In autumn 2023 and spring 2024, Scary Little Girls travelled across Cornwall from Ruan Minor to Saltash and Penzance to Padstow, inviting people to share their stories—from everyday moments and funny incidents to childhood memories, myths, and legends—at a series of Chatty Cakey Tea events. Now, ‘Karavan An Chi Drolla’ invites you to hear these stories, told by Cornish voices, and reflect on what it means to be Cornish.
We invite you to delve into this magical Karavan, stay for a moment or a while, and find a story that tickles you, makes you wonder or leaves you wanting more.
The full archive of collected stories will be preserved in Kresen Kernow from 2025 and we’ll be taking the Karavan to other locations too – watch this space!
This event is happening just before the Lantern Parade, celebrating Penzance’s own Sir Humphry Davy. For more information on Humphry Davy Lantern Parade and it’s wider events, go here.
