Raise a glass to our newest feature – Cocktail of the Month!

Here at Scary Little Girls we’re all about feminism, great art and performance, and great FUN, so we’re going to be sharing some of our favourite recipes with you!

Here’s our first cocktail of the month – Autumn Haze

Artistic Director said a few days ago, ‘I woke up this morning and smelt the first bonfires coming through the sunny autumn rays so I made up this combo of smoky and sunshine flavours! In these pics you can see the ingredients, the season, a bit of the process and Meg helping!’
🍹 To make the Autumn Haze you’ll need
  • Half an orange
  • A splash of maple syrup,
  • A good orange marmalade gin (we love Penzance distilleries Pocket Full of Stones)
  • A nice, smoky mezcal
  • Orange bitters.
And here’s how to build it..
  • A couple of drops of the bitters go in with equal shots of mezcal and gin, the squeezed juice of half an orange and the splash of syrup to taste.
  • Pop it all in a glass you like over ice, then stir.
  • Then take the curl of orange ride you’ve curled off the outside of one half of the orange, bend it in half with the peel facing out and hold it in your glass over the mixture, then use FIRE 🔥 to lightly burn the fold of peel and then drop it into the mixture.
  • You now have a rich but sunny smoky little cocktail suitable for boozy brunches and late nights round the bonfire – hurray! Xxxxxx
  • Apparently it freezes well! Becca says, ‘I put some in the freezer to have tonight and it froze and I ate it with a spoon and it was a sorbet that kicked my a*se into Friday evening!)
