This Mayven Festival was dedicated to our irreplaceable friend Kirsty Cotton, Talent Development Manager from Hall for Cornwall who passed away recently, far too young.
Kirsty was a vital part of the Scary Little Girls Story, was much loved and will be much missed. A marvellous Mayven herself, we could not think of a better way to celebrate her life and legacy than to hold her in our hearts as we took to the stages.
Over 20 incredible artists joined us in over ten venues across Cornwall for an extravaganza of comedy, cabaret, festivity and feminism, storytelling and silliness.
The opening night of the festival took place in Falmouth with ‘Cabaret with Claws‘ – Charlie Bicknell’s show mixing wicked humour and eclectic jazz and cabaret, interspersed with jaw-dropping circus performances.
Shows included fantastic feminist cabarets, folk storytelling, singing and writing workshops, and more!
The festivities came to an end on May 18th with our ‘Common Ground’ film screening in Golant.
