We are looking to work with a creative partner on the projection design for our upcoming show with Historic Royal Palaces on Sophia Duleep Singh, Indian suffragette and Queen Victoria’s goddaughter.
We would like to use projections to link the past with the present, inviting the audience to consider how much things have changed in the last 100 years.
For example, scenes of the original Black Friday in 1910 where protesting suffragettes were assaulted by police could be mirrored with projections of police grabbing & arresting women at the Sarah Everard vigil in 2021.
Our vision is of projections on costumes of the 3 performers, as well as on props such as umbrellas and parts of the set.
We have a budget of £500 and a tight turnaround, with a deadline of the end of May! We have not used projection in our work before, so forgive us if this is unrealistic – we are learning!
