Penny Rackett Won Best Witch at South Manchester Women’s Aid fundraiser 1985

Her performance at our Mayven Festival is called ‘A lot of stuff happens to Kitty Smith’. Here’s a short description:

A ranter, a brewer, a midwife, a blacksmith, friends, England, sometime between 1580 and 1625. Life is good, and then counter revolution came to the village.

There’s this woman who has it all and then her husband dies and so do her children, she loses her job, she gets burgled twice and then her pet is killed and eaten, she’s arrested three times and so are her friends, there’s a great deal of shouting, drunkenness, loads of violence, and it all ends badly, really badly.
