Snook has spent the last 25 years on the front lines of grassroots direct action.

After skiving off from Central St Martins to go a live in a tree on the route of the Newbury Bypass, she wound her way through various campaigns, drawing as she went. From GM Crops, through the Iraq war, Plane Stupid, Reclaim the Power, Deportations and Fracking.

Now she’s writing comics about the people and struggles who’ve shaped our Islands, and what they can teach us about how to be strategic, in impossible times.

Snook’s performance at our Mayven Festival is titled ‘How direct action shaped modern Britain’
