Laura Jayne Wright is an academic and theatre-maker.
Here, she says a bit about herself:
I currently teach at University College, Oxford, where I specialise in Shakespeare but am soon moving to Newcastle University, where I will be working on women’s voices in complaint poetry.
I have directed plays for Creation Theatre including The Duchess of Malfi (with Natasha Rickman) and The Witch of Edmonton, both plays which I adapted to reframe women’s words within the text. I have recently adapted Shakespeare’s 1 Henry VI as Joan Must Burn, a feminist play about burning and burnout.
