Welcome to an chi drolla – the house of stories.
In the autumn 2023 and spring 2024 Scary Little Girls embarked on a community engagement project, supported by funding from the Shared Prosperity Fund. The team of story collectors hosted a series of ‘Chatty Cakey Tea’ events, inviting members of the public to come and share their stories, from personal anecdotes to everyday moments and funny incidents to local myths and legends, over a hot cup of tea and a slice of cake.
From Ruan Minor to Saltash and Penzance to Padstow we captured childhood memories, local histories and reflections of what it is to be Cornish.
‘An Chi Drolla’ invites you step inside and listen to some of these Cornish stories told by Cornish voices. What objects intrigue you? What unexpected moments can you find? The full interviews will be hosted in the Kresen Kernow archive from 2025. If you’ve enjoyed this space then why not visit ‘Karavan an Chi Drolla’, on tour in Autumn and Winter 2024 throughout Cornwall.
