An chi drolla

Welcome to an chi drolla – the house of stories.

In autumn 2023 and spring 2024 Scary Little Girls embarked on a community engagement project, supported by funding from the Shared Prosperity Fund. The team of story collectors hosted a series of ‘Chatty Cakey Tea’ events, inviting members of the public to come and share their tales, from personal anecdotes to everyday moments and funny incidents to local myths and legends, over a hot cup of tea and a slice of cake.

From Ruan Minor to Saltash and Penzance to Padstow we captured childhood memories, local histories and reflections of what it is to be Cornish.

We have used these memories, stories and anecdotes to build both digital and physical spaces to showcase and celebrate our collected stories, so whether you’re near or far, you too can step inside and find out more. Below you can discover more about:

• The full interviews will be hosted in the Kresen Kernow archive from 2025.
