Angeline Morrison is an award-winning songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist who believes in the inherent beauty of sad songs, the importance of small things, and the power of nature and the cosmos.
Her work in folk and traditional music seeks to reinvigorate the voices of Britain’s Black ancestors, so often written out of the official narratives, and to create new, old-sounding compositions telling their hidden histories. belle loves what she does and loves making work that is inclusive, fun and conversation starting.
Angeline will sing and play a selection of traditional British folk songs, her own new compositions, and some songs from her 2022 album The Sorrow Songs : Folk Songs of Black British Experience. This album seeks to re-story the lost and forgotten histories of Britain’s historic Black populations back into our folk songs.
