Artistic Director Rebecca Mordan is treating us to two delicious cocktail recipes this month! Hold on to the summer feeling for a little longer with these refreshing Spritz’!
You will need:
- Lemon
- Elderflower liqueur
- Greengage jam
- Dry prosecco or cava
- Soda or fizzy water
- Pink grapefruit
- Stellacello
- Yuzu juice
- Clementines
- Port (optional)
- Rosemary
Here, Becca shares how to make these drinks:
“Here’s the first, an elderflower and greengage tipple, serving three!
Grab your cocktail shaker and get some ice in there.
Then add half a squeezed lemon, four double measures of elderflower liqueur (I’m using the Bitter Truth who do fantastic travel bitter packs and seem to be smashing it at liqueurs too!) and two or three teaspoons of greengage jam.
Now shake long and hard (work those triceps!) so that the jam is obliterated into the mixture, there should be no trace of it in the mixture when you’re done.
Into your glasses (I favour a goblet gin bowl) squeeze a chunk of lemon and drop some ice. Then pour the liquid from your shaker into the glasses. Top with dry Prosecco or cava and a splash of soda or fizzy water and enjoy!
For the second spritz, I’m really being a bit cheeky and repeating an earlier cocktail but with an exciting new addition, yuzu juice!
I draughted it in for a recipe that did not work out so I’ve been using it for other drinks and loving it, so I am including the adapted grapefruit spritz here.
Pop your ice and a big wedge of pink grapefruit into your glasses, add a double measure of Stellacello and half a measure of yuzu juice. I also had some clementines and port and I so added a chunk of this fruit and a dash of the port (I know this is not all that normal to have in, so instead of this you could use a splash of orange liqueur, or begin this process using a couple of spoons of marmalade in the shaker with your spirits as I did with jam above).
Then add the fizzy water and a sprig of rosemary and imbibe those citrus summer vibes!”
See the summer out in style with these tasty tipples – enjoy!
