SUMMARY:Common Ground: Craftivism and Memory Share Coffee Morning
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Craftivism & Memory Share Coffee Morning hosted by Greenham Women Everywhere and Scary Little Girls! \nDrop in to the Cafe at Ventnor Exchange between 10am – 1pm. \nPrintmaker Caroline Wilkins will be leading a relaxed session making protest bunting using simple kitchen table print techniques. Your printed bunting flags will be stitched together and will travel around the UK with Scary Little Girls as we continue to gather Greenham stories. \nWhilst crafting\, Greenham Child Rebecca Mordan and Sue Bolton will be sharing their memories of Greenham and chatting to you about yours. \nAll materials provided.  \nAbout Common Ground \nThis event was made possible thanks to support from the Heritage Lottery Fund. It is part of a project created by Scary Little Girls in collaboration with Greenham Women Everywhere CIC to map the impact of the peace camp on the women who inhabited it and the communities they returned to.  \nAbout Greenham Common Peace Camp \nGreenham Common Women’s Peace Camp was an enduring and iconic protest spanning 19 years from 1981 – 2000. Whilst the occupation of the common began with the aim of forcing out the US nuclear warheads from Berkshire\, the protest became a focal point of feminist history and has left a legacy of women’s liberation around the world. As women travelled to Greenham from across the UK\, local support hubs formed to ‘Carry Greenham Home’. \nThis event was made possible thanks to support from the Heritage Lottery Fund. It is part of a project created by Scary Little Girls in collaboration with Greenham Women Everywhere CIC to map the impact of the peace camp on the women who inhabited it and the communities they returned to.  \nInclusion and Accessibility \nCommon Ground strives to be an inclusive and welcoming space which celebrates diversity in all its forms. Our approach is to learn from and value each other’s lived experience.  \nIf you have any access needs you’d like to speak to us about please email us.
